Front: Rev. C.T. Quintard, M.D. December 22, 1824 – February 15, 1898 PHYSICIAN~SURGEON – Memphis Medical College PRIEST ~ BISHOP – Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee CONFEDERATE CHAPLAIN – Nashville Rock City Guard, 1st Tennessee Regiment AUTHOR – “Balm for the Weary and Wounded” Back: During the War Charles Todd Quintard served the soldiers both as a chaplain, physician and surgeon. He never returned to his Nashville home until the war was over. “I was very glad to believe that my labors among the soldier as their chaplain were not all thrown away. it was very delightful to see how well our daily evening service in camp was attended…One of the Captains told the Major that he believed every man in his company would lay down his life for me. Certainly I met nothing but kindness from the officers and men. And so I was led to hope that some good would grow out of the seed sown in those wild mountains.”
